Campus/Community Coalition
The campus and community coalition is the key vehicle for changing the community environment surrounding the campus. By bringing members of the campus and community together to collaborate on alcohol and other drug use issues, the coalition can effectively rework the larger environment within which students make decisions about alcohol and other drug use.
The coalition should involve a broad range of community members, such as AOD prevention leaders, elected officials, restaurant and bar owners, and law enforcement officers, plus include campus members, such as college officials, faculty, and students. These members bring their unique perspectives and experience together to develop and implement community level strategies.
